St Augustine Beach, the pet friendly choice in Florida vacations
Having vacationed in many other areas of Florida with our Shitzu, Bertie, we were so pleased to find St Augustine Beach. With over 10 miles of pristine white sand stretching along the azure blue of the temperate waters of the Atlantic ocean, it is a wonderful place to walk with your best friend.
Yes, it is allowable to take your dog on the beach, unlike other areas of florida, where pets are restricted with very limited beach access, St Augustine Beach, Butler Beach and Crescent Beach (which form the 10 mile long beach) allow pets on the beach, providing they are on a leash, and the owner cleans up after their pet.
Casa De Las Palmas is a convenient location, to walk your pet, either from the beach house to the beach pedestrian access on Atlantic Avenue, or vehicular access on Dondanville Rd.
Fort Matanzas Pet Walking Other options for walking your pet include the trails at Fort Matanzas, which are either paved or boardwalk, and pass through vegetation to views of the intracoastal waterway.
